PROCESS was inspired by Rubina’s first job, Berg Hardware in Southern California. Rue was the first female hired in 75 years with three generations of operation. When you walked in you were always greeted by staff, each customer grabbed a number at the door and waited to be called. On Saturday there would easily be 50-80 people trying to find fixes to their house projects. Rue got the job because every couple weeks her grandfather would bring her in, whether he needed anything or not, just to “bullshit” with the owner. This small town general store feel was known throughout Los Angeles county.
Every town needs this place. For Stevens Point it was Frank’s Hardware. An 80 year run family operation that served the needs of home owners daily. Sadly, the fate of both hardware stores was closing as folks moved to big box stores and online. One of the services that Frank’s offered was knife sharpening. Since their closure a couple years ago PROCESS has been able to fill that void.

This is how to do it!
- Make the trip to downtown Stevens Point
- Ask for a form to fill out for knife sharpening services
- Your knives will be picked up and sharpened by Lon Butcher then dropped back off at PROCESS
- We will contact you to pick up your sharpened knives!
- Turn around has been as quick as same day but please expect longer depending on how large the order and time of year
