Marshlands is a palette inspired by the generative wetlands in the Great Lakes region. All natural earth pigments and natural mica sparkle, set of 12 paintstones in a tin, all the natural hues, handdug pigments and ochres, and even a little indigo in the lake trout color, make this the perfect palette for painting in and with nature. Color include: Red Willow, Violet Grey Earth, Acorn, Northern Pike, River Rock, Salamander, Chickadee, Steelhead, Pickle, Field Mouse, Thundercloud, and Lake Trout.
Drawing from Indigenous knowledge on pigments and paint traditions, Beam Paints is centered on the M’Chigeeng First Nation reserve and is Anishinaabe Kwe owned. They employ local paintmakers and woodworkers in surrounding communities including M’Chigeeng, Sagamok and Wikwemikong to create paints, art kits, and studio supplies.
